Also called "Christ at 33", this striking image of the Head of Christ, was originally painted by Heinrich Hofmann. Hofmann was an artist from Germany who died in 1911.

He then writes:

"Of all the pictures I have seen of him in the West, the rendering by Hofmann comes closest to showing the accurate features of the incarnate Jesus."

This oil painting is modeled from a pencil drawing by the Great German painter Heinrich Hofmann (1824-1911) Those who have read the "Autobiography of a Yogi" will no doubt find great joy in this portrait Also called "Christ at 33", this striking image of the Head of Christ, was originally painted by Heinrich Hofmann. Christ and the rich young ruler" An article printed in 1912, shortly after Hoffman’s death, in the Munich journal Die Kunst unserer Zeit ("Art of Our Time"), gave the following insights into the great painter: "To be able to create high quality works in religious art it is not sufficient to be a gifted artist; you must also have devotion and you must be sincere. Those who are trying to depict religious subjects – especially when the Savior is involved – without being moved in their innermost soul do not have the capacity for this task, even though they may be the greatest masters of art in the whole world. We could compare this to a preacher who gives a sermon about a subject he does not believe in and that he has not made his own….

"About Heinrich Hoffman we know for certain that he started and ended his day by reading the Bible in which he was very well versed – far from any type of bigotry…. He very much cared for those less fortunate than he and every Christmas he invited families in need to his own home….

Free 8 x 10 Image Of Lord Krishna for use for Home printing or by any religious organization.

Krishna's good looks are a matter of folklore, I have had an image created using a favourite foundational image chosen by a great saint called Sri Daya Mata. It is my hope that this image can be used for more images of Lord Krishna and that it is pleasing to those who want to hold his Divinity close in their homes and temples.

Lord Krishna Devotional Portrait, Bhagavan Krishna, Govinda, Gopala, Vithoba, Jagannatha. Hearts For Love Krishna Prints also available in different sizes on ETSY.com

Bhagavan Krishna was the eighth incarnation of Vishnu who lived in India five thousand years ago. One of the meanings given for the word Krishna in the Hindu scriptures is “Omniscient spirit”. Thus “Krishna” like the word “Christ” is a title signifying the spiritual oneness with God. The title Bhagavan means Lord , and the Bhagavad-Gita (Song of the Lord) is the best known gospel of Lord Krishna instructing his disciple Arjuna on the eve of the historic battle of Kurukshetra (3000 BC ).

The Gita is a timeless prescription for happiness and success in everyday living, showing how the science of correct thinking and living (Yoga) when adopted can lead one to a blissful deep inner state of communion with God.

A recently published interpretation of the Bhagavad-Gita by Paramahansa Yogananda, has brought to light many of the profound similarities between Krishna’s precepts and those of the Lord Jesus Christ.

"He who perceives Me everywhere and beholds everything in Me, Never loses sight of Me nor do I ever lose sight of him."

Swami Sri Yukteswar

Swami Sri Yukteswar was little known to the outside world until Paramahansa Yogananda introduced how his Guru trained him in the ancient yoga tradition from the pages of the "Autobiography of a Yogi". Below are several quotes associated with true anecdotal stories he tells to the young Yogananda in this popular spiritual classic.

"Look fear in the face and it will cease to trouble you"

"Attachment is blinding; it lends an imaginary halo of attractiveness to the object of desire."

"Good and positive suggestions should instruct the sensitive ears of children. Their early ideas long remain sharply etched"

"Tender inner weaknesses, revolting at mild touches of censure, are like diseased body parts, recoiling before even delicate handling"

"Some people try to be tall by cutting off the heads of others!"

"Everything in the future will improve if you make the spiritual effort now."

"Ordinary love is selfish, darkly rooted in desires and satisfactions. Divine love is without condition, without boundary, without change. The flux of the human heart is gone forever at the transfixing touch of pure love."

"The Virture of Love the Heart’s natural love is the principal requisite to attain a holy life. When this love, the heavenly gift of Nature, appears in the heart, it removes all causes of excitation from the system and cools it down to a perfectly normal state; and, invigorating the vital powers, expels all foreign matters- the germs of diseases-by natural ways (perspiration and so forth). It thereby makes man perfectly healthy in body and mind, And enables him to understand properly the guidance of Nature. " From; The Holy Science "The eight bondages or snares are hatred, shame, fear, grief, condemnation, race prejudice, pride of family and smugness. Removal of the eight bondages leads to magnanimity of the Heart. "
